What is e marketing

E-marketing refers to Email Marketing, Scheduling & Automation, and should play a part in your overall internet marketing strategy. E marketing is the process of bulk emailing either relatively cold contacts, or those that have subscribed to hear from you often through your website to inform them of your brand, product or service.  It is one of the most accessible and effective forms of generating new leads as well as nurturing existing ones.

Email marketing is an excellent distribution channel for good and informative content. With good planning, and used in conjunction with good contact data and automation settings it can prove a great way of getting new customers and increasing sales.

Having your website visitors subscribe to receive valuable content is a great way of building up a contact list.  The most effective way to do this is by offering something of high-value in exchange for their email address via a landing page.

Alternatively, email prospects can be bought in from data agencies specific to your target market. However, with the introduction of GDPR, handling this data with responsibility is of upmost importance.

Automation is used to maximise the results of your subscriber list.

Remarketing through automation warms up those prospects who have shown an interest in either opening or clicking on sent emails. Best practice dictates that you contact your prospects no less than once a fortnight. In fact, research has shown that prospect must engage with you 7 times before they are ready to make a purchase.

Automation allows you to funnel prospects down specific avenues depending on their interaction with previous communication where they will receive further relevant communications.  It also enables you to resend emails with different subject headers to contacts who didn’t open your initial email.  This is a great tool as coming up with a catchy subject header that makes the reader want to open the email can be a difficult task.

There are many email marketing services online, each with a range of features.  Some of these offer free accounts up until a certain user limit and are well worth looking at.
